Literature Text

Moonlight sparkles on your eyes,
Blinding me with your joyful laugh,
Or the soft clear light;
I do not know which,
But in the end
It doesn't matter
Because they are one and the same
After all,
And your voice fades again
To the whisper of the summer breeze
Through the trees behind my house,
The touch of your hand
Simply mist on my cheek,
And a single tear falls
As a cloud moves in front of the moon,
Because when it has passed
I know that you will have gone as well,
An aparition of the light
And my own lonely mind.
If I hold my breath
The moment can last forever.
But it is no longer real,
And I can't hold on any longer;
So I sigh,
And walk slowly back to the house,
Stopping at the door to look back
At what could have been,
Before stepping inside
And bolting the door fast
Against the wind.
